Ni-Hao, Kai-lan - Nick Jr.'s newest show

Good news for parents who want to have bilingual kids: Ni-Hao, Kai-lan, Nick Jr. 's new animated series launches at 11 a.m. today. I haven't watched the show yet, but the preview looks very good. Most of my son's favorite shows are from Nick Jr., such as "Dora the explorer", "Go, Diego, Go!", and "Blue's Clue". This time Kai-lan Chow is a Chinese-American girl, who speaks both English Mandarin. I am hoping this show not only gives some rudimentary lessons in the Chinese language but also introduces kids to various aspects of China's fine culture. In case you are curious about the title "Ni Hao", it means "hello" in English, which is the Pinyin transcription of Chinese characters "你好".
